Today marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), an international campaign that calls on everyone to stand together to end violence against women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals.
In First Nations, we know this violence is rooted in colonial systems and inequality. It disproportionately impacts First Nations women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals, and addressing this crisis is critical.

We are very close, weeks close, to finalize announcements around some really important short immediate changes that we can make to the ATR policy and that is based on the engagements reports and feedback that Ontario First Nations and others have raised.
