The Chiefs of Ontario Education Sector are hosting the 2026 Education, Languages and Special Education Forum, taking place November 3–5, 2026, at the Valhalla Inn and Conference Centre in Thunder Bay. This year’s theme, “Learning Across All Stages of Life”, reflects a holistic First Nations understanding of learning as a lifelong, interconnected journey rooted in language, culture, and community.

Who Should Attend: First Nation Education and Language Educators, Special Education Resource Teachers, Educational Assistants, Advocates, Directors, Technicians and Administrators.

Accommodations: A limited block of rooms has been set aside at the Valhalla Inn, Thunder Bay, at a special group rate of $259.00 CAD per night plus applicable taxes. These rooms will be available at this rate until October 5, 2026.

Travel Reimbursement: Two (2) attendees employed or designated by a First Nation or First Nation representative entity will be reimbursed for their travel, meals, and hotel accommodations for up to four (4) nights at the rate of $ $259.00 CAD plus applicable taxes to attend the event upon submission of a travel claim, following the event.
