On the United Nations International Day for the El On the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, First Nations Leadership in Ontario calls on all levels of government to prioritize ending gender-based violence in support of all First Nations women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals in Ontario and around the world.

The #16DaysofActivism Against Gender-based Violence is an annual international campaign that begins on November 25 and goes until December 10, Human Rights Day.

Funds raised will support First Nations youth advocacy initiatives in Ontario. 

OFNYPC Representatives Tehya Quachegan and Pierre Debassige are selling raffle tickets. They look forward to meeting with Chiefs and elegates over the next two days to talk about the OFNYPC’s work!

The Chiefs of Ontario (COO) will be hosting a Fall The Chiefs of Ontario (COO) will be hosting a Fall Chiefs Assembly (FCA) in Toronto, Ontario, on the ancestral territory of many nations, including the Anishnabeg, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples.

Toronto is also part of Treaty 13, signed by representatives of the Crown and Mississaugas of the Credit, as well as the Williams Treaties, signed with various Mississauga nations.

COO invites all First Nations Leadership, Youth, Technicians, and Community Members to join the FCA livestream on November 21, 22 & 23, 2023.

Tomorrow is the third annual National Day for Trut Tomorrow is the third annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as #OrangeShirtDay. Please note that our office will be closed on Monday, October 2, 2023, in recognition of #September30, and to commemorate the appalling legacy of residential schools and to honour the healing journey of survivors and their families across Canada.
